7 Years Strong: Cache Coffee's Free Thanksgiving Dinner Feeds the Community

Seven years ago, Jamie and Mindie Buttars started something simple: a free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone in the community who needed it. No strings attached. No questions asked. Everyone is welcome at our table.

What started as a small gathering has grown into one of the most anticipated community events in Cache Valley. Every year on Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the Cache Valley Eagles Hall at 170 West 900 North in Logan fills up with neighbors, veterans, seniors, families, and anyone who just needs a warm meal and good company.

"No one should go hungry or eat alone on Thanksgiving." — Jamie Buttars

The menu is full Thanksgiving: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pie. Delivery is available for those who can't make it in person — just reach out to Cache Coffee ahead of time to arrange it.

A Community That Shows Up

The event is powered entirely by volunteers and community donations. Every year, the Cache Valley community shows up — not just to eat, but to serve. Volunteer sign-up sheets fill up fast.

Cache Valley Daily covered the event in 2023, and the story has been shared thousands of times across social media. But for Jamie and Mindie, it's never been about the press. It's about the person sitting alone at home who now has somewhere to go.

If you want to volunteer, donate, or need a meal delivered, contact Cache Coffee at (435) 753-2284 or reach out on social media. We'll see you at the table.
