MORE THAN COFFEE:
SERVING LOGAN, CACHE VALLEY & AMERICA'S VETERANS
Community isn't something we put on a coffee bag. It's something we take care of. When our neighbors need help, we help.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner
Seven years ago, Jamie and Mindie Buttars started something simple: a free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone who needed it. No strings attached. No questions asked. Everyone is welcome at our table.
In 2022, Cache Coffee served 2,500 plates of food — turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pie — to neighbors, veterans, seniors, and families across Cache Valley. In 2025, the effort included more than 65 turkeys.
The dinner runs every Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Cache Valley Eagles Hall, 170 W. 900 N., Logan. Delivery is available for those who can't make it in person.

Community means taking care of your neighbors during the hardest times of the year. When people need help, we show up.
Suicide Prevention & Safe Firearm Storage
After losing two close friends to suicide, Jamie and Mindie Buttars launched a pioneering safe firearm-storage initiative. Anyone in a mental health crisis can bring their firearms to Cache Coffee to be stored safely — no police involvement, no risk of confiscation — until they're in a better place.
As of June 2026, Cache Coffee operates 44 gun safes, almost full. Jamie has held firearms for individuals for as long as four years. In a single week in June 2025, three men reached out asking to bring in their guns.
Cache Coffee also hosts an annual Fourth of July BBQ connected to suicide-prevention awareness and outreach, and partners with Liberty Safe to expand the program to other businesses.
"There's got to be something more we can do." — Jamie Buttars, after losing a friend
"A lot of people that are in trouble or are having thoughts of suicide don't want to lose anything that they have. If they're feeling that bad, and they want to give their gun up, they shouldn't have to feel like they're going to lose it or get charged with something."
— Lee Elmer, Iraq veteran and Cache Coffee patron, Herald Journal
If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.
Veterans Game Nights
Every Friday night, Cache Coffee hosts a dedicated Game Night for veterans. It's a low-key, no-pressure environment where men and women who served can show up, connect with people who understand, and simply not be alone.
Isolation is one of the biggest threats facing those who have served. We built a community hub where veterans can walk in, be welcomed, and find real connection.

Free VA Disability Resource
Navigating the VA system shouldn't be a battle. Cache Coffee created a free online tool designed to help veterans with disability-related claims and support.
This tool is 100% free and was built specifically for the veteran community. Cache Coffee is not the VA, a law firm, or an accredited claims representative — this is a community resource to help veterans understand and navigate the process.

VA Facility Donations
Cache Coffee has a long history of donating and sending coffee directly to VA facilities across the country — particularly in Salt Lake City and other major hubs — working directly with social workers to get coffee to veterans receiving care.
When veterans are in a VA facility getting the help they need, we want to make sure they've got good coffee.
