KSL: Logan Coffee Shop Owner Works to Break Stigma Around Men's Mental Health
In June 2026 — Men's Mental Health Awareness Month — KSL News Utah sat down with Cache Coffee owner Jamie Buttars to talk about one of the most important missions behind the Logan coffee shop: breaking the stigma around men's mental health.
Jamie shared his own personal battles and the journey that led him to build Cache Coffee into more than just a place to get a great cup of coffee. It's a community hub where men — especially veterans — can find connection, support, and a reason to keep going.
A Safe Space for Veterans and Men in Crisis
Cache Coffee hosts regular veteran game nights — a low-key, no-pressure environment where veterans and others can show up, connect with people who understand, and simply not be alone. The shop also continues its pioneering firearm safe storage program, allowing individuals in mental health crisis to store their weapons at the shop while they get the help they need.

But this story goes deeper than programs. Jamie opened up about his own struggles — the kind of raw honesty that most men are taught to suppress. His willingness to be vulnerable is itself part of the mission: showing other men that asking for help is not weakness. It's the hardest, most courageous thing you can do.
Why Men's Mental Health Matters
Men die by suicide at nearly four times the rate of women. They are less likely to seek help, less likely to talk about it, and more likely to suffer in silence until it's too late. Cache Coffee is working to change that — one conversation, one game night, one cup of coffee at a time.
If you or someone you know is struggling, Cache Coffee is here. Walk in. Call. Reach out on social media. You don't have to have it figured out. You just have to show up.
Crisis Resources: If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or reach out to Cache Coffee directly at (435) 753-2284.
